Sommerset Collection Holiday Catalog photo shoot at The Whitney

Hour Magazine is doing a photo shoot in exclusive locations around the Metro Detroit area for its upcoming Somerset Collection Holiday Catalog and The Whitney was selected for the designer gown fashion shoot. Hour is flying in a well-known fashion photographer from New York as well as a National Model for the occasion.

The shoot will take place on the staircase leading up to the third floor Wintergarten with the Tiffany stained glass windows offering a colorful backdrop.

It should be spectacular and we will certainly post the images as soon as they become available.

My wife and I had dinner at The Whitney for the first time last Saturday night. The dinner and ambiance were wonderful – very relaxing. We ate in the library, and since my wife loves reading novels, she really enjoyed the surroundings. After dinner (and a fantastic dessert), our server, Richard, spoke with us in depth about the Whitney and its history. Richard was great as a server and as an impromptu tour guide. As we left and walked down the stairs, my wife turned to me and said ‘when we were dating, I asked you to take me here someday’. Unfortunately, it took nearly 18 years for that to happen, but some things are worth the wait. And after 17 years of marriage, I’m still trying to impress her. Thank you for a very memorable evening. We will be back very soon. Sincerely, B. Glass

Thanks for your kind comments and thanks for getting to The Whitney after 17 years. We hope you’ll come back much more frequently in the future and wish you all the best for many more years of wedded bliss!
